Our programs provide blind musicians with invaluable resources and opportunities to further develop their career in the world of professional music. In an already competitive field where standing out from one’s peers can be difficult, visually impaired musicians are further disadvantaged by the lack of accommodations and awareness about their situation. Therefore, we hope that our programs will be multifaceted resources for blind musicians that not only bolster their resume but also spread awareness, create supporting communities, and offer competitive stages to share their stories with the world.

BMF INT'L MUSIC COMPETITION
​for the Blind and Visually Impaired

​The BMF International Music Competition is open to solo blind musicians aged 10-30 from all over the world. Boasting a highly competitive selection process with renowned musicians serving on the judge panel, our past competitions have seen great success in discovering outstanding talent and showcasing their talent to the world. As further encouragement and acknowledgement of their achievements, prizes in the past have included Dancing Dots’ Braille Music Software through the generous donation of Dancing dots and $10,000 in cash awards. In addition to being recognized for musical excellence within the competition, winners of the BMF International Music Competition also earn the privilege of participating in some of our other events such as the BMF International Concerto Competition and BMF Music Festival Series.

BMF INT'L CONCERTO COMPETITION
​for the Blind and Visually Impaired

As the world’s first concerto competition dedicated to blind musicians, the BMF International Concerto Competition for the Blind offers a highly prestigious and selective opportunity. What sets it apart is the rare privilege it grants winners—the chance to perform a solo concerto with the BMF Symphony Orchestra. Eligibility is limited to blind musicians over the age of 31 and past winners of the BMF International Music Competition. Winners are also invited to perform in the renowned BMF Concert Series and the BMF International Music Festival for the Blind.

BMF ​INT'L MUSIC FESTIVAL
for the Blind and Visually Impaired

The BMF International Music Festival Series for the Blind is the world’s first classical music festival series dedicated to blind musicians, celebrating their extraordinary artistry, resilience, and contributions to the global music landscape. This pioneering event underscores the transformative power of music as a vehicle for hope, unity, and inclusion, fostering cross-cultural understanding and global harmony. As a dynamic platform, the festival strengthens connections within the blind community worldwide, amplifies their impact, and dismantles barriers through shared performances and compelling personal narratives. By convening distinguished blind musicians and thought leaders, the festival cultivates collaboration, empathy, and innovation, advancing a more inclusive and equitable future.

BMF LOVE CONCERT SERIES
​for Students at blind School

The BMF Love Concert Series is one of our first concert series and seeks to ignite the sparks of passion for classical music in young blind individuals by providing free concerts at schools for the blind. Each concert features world-class musicians with diverse experiences whose performances deliver multifaceted and complete impressions of classical music to students who have potential to become the future generation of blind musicians. Furthermore, this concert series serves the secondary purpose of assuring students that, should they choose to pursue music, Bella Music Foundation is a resource that they can turn to.

BMF CONCERT SERIES

The BMF Concert Series aims to revitalize the impact of classical music while expanding its reach to diverse audiences. Each event showcases renowned professionals alongside exceptional blind musicians, highlighting their talent and fostering greater inclusivity in the arts. As we bring this series to different locations, we actively discover and feature outstanding local blind musicians, creating opportunities for recognition and collaboration. Beyond its artistic and cultural significance, the series also serves as a key fundraising initiative, supporting BMF’s mission to empower blind musicians and promote accessibility in classical music.

BMF MASTERCLASSES, SEMINARS ​& CONFERENCES 

BMF Masterclasses and Seminars strive to bridge the gap between renowned educators and talented blind musicians who have been prevented from furthering their education due to the lack of accommodations and resources. By bringing excellent learning opportunities directly to students, we aim to increase accessibility to the tools and support they need to reach their full potential.
Building on this mission, we are also working to establish conferences that foster global collaboration between the blind community and the broader music world. By creating a strong, interconnected network of musicians, educators, and organizations, we can share valuable resources, provide high-quality educational materials, and open new opportunities for blind musicians to thrive in professional music. Through these combined efforts, we hope to break down barriers and ensure that every musician, regardless of vision, has the opportunity to excel.
