BMF Scholarship Fundraising Concert in Greenwich on Feb. 28, 2020/ Watch the Concert Highlights2/28/2020
Our Greenwich fundraising concert was a huge success where we were greeted with a full house. The audience was especially captivated by the music of our Executive music director, pianist Howard Aibel. Mr. Aibel's duet with his wife, pianist Mimi Melkonian, was an equally stunning performance which really displayed the incredible skill of both pianists. Bass Hyong Jo's performance with pianist Mira Kim was received very well with many commenting afterward about his deep and powerful voice. The reception following the performance was also a very impactful part of the event where many were able to get to know more about Bella Music Foundation and offer their support of our mission. We would like to thank pianist Howard Aibel and pianist Mimi Melkonian for making this concert possible. BMF has completed another successful 'Love concert' for the lovely students of the Saint Joseph's School for the Blind on Feb. 4, 2020, and it was received very well by their community. In the meeting session after the concert, we met some students who are interested in music and promised to perform together next time. We look forward to performing with them soon!
We are pleased to announce that BMF is revisiting St. Joseph’s School for the Blind in Jersey City, NJ to offer a concert, “Love Concert” for their students on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 10AM. Featuring: Hyunjin Cho, Hyong Jo, Sujung Kim, Geon Park, Sehjin Jo, and Mira Kim. We are looking forward to meeting those lovely students again!
On the 18th of January 2019, Bella Music Foundation successfully completed a performance at St. Joseph's School for the Blind in Jersey City. Ranging from the young age of 3 to 21, it was heartwarming to see this wonderful audience welcome us and show their appreciation through their undivided attention and enthusiastic applause after every piece. Special thanks goes particularly to the people who made this performance possible and end as such a great success: pianist Hyunjin Cho, bass-baritone Hyong Jo, tenor Jeduthun Kim and violinist Ye-Jin Han.
After the performance, the principal Dr. Lentine and the teachers who have seen the children attend many other events in the past commentated on how surprised they were at the children's exceptional focus during the performance. Similarly, the students expressed their gratitude both verbally and through handmade thank you cards. One of the students even came to the performers at the end of the performance, comparing his experience listening to the music to that of watching a movie, moving several of the performers to tears. Looking back on the concert, it is my hope that the students' experience of classical music was as enjoyable to them as it was for us to perform, and it is also my hope that some of them may take more away from the experience and turn classical music into their life and future career. A Night of Jazz and Classical Piano Music
On November 2nd, at Steinway Hall in Paramus, NJ, followed by a performance on November 3rd at Forte Piano Concert Hall, also in Paramus, NJ, the inaugural concert of our BMF Concert Series commenced with a captivating blend of jazz and classical piano music. Classical pianist Mira Kim, CEO of the Bella Music Foundation, joined forces with jazz pianist Youngsin Min to enchant audiences. This extraordinary evening showcased a repertoire ranging from the timeless compositions of Beethoven and Rachmaninoff to the contemporary brilliance of Ginastera, Corea, and Schwartz, promising a mesmerizing experience for all attendees. |
